Graduated from Khyber Medical College in 1986.
Joined Civil Service of Pakistan in November 1989.
After completion of 17th Common Training Programme was posted in District Administrator Afghan Refugees 1991-1995.
During the period received the complex mixed population of Urban Afghan Refugees on the fall of the communist regime in Afghanistan. Simultaneously managed the return of 1.5 million Afghan Refugees to Afghanistan Established Two camps inside Afghanistan to check the flow into Pakistan.
1995-2000 elevated to the position of Additional Commissioner Afghan Refugees KPK managed the overall Afghan Refugees situation in KPK as well as closely interacted UN and donars, served as Commissioner Afghan Refugees KPK for two tenure during this period attended Refugees law Course in Salerno, Italy.
2001 posted in Deputy Secretary Finance in KPK.
After 9/11 Chief Commissioner Afghan Refugees office was re-establised and was posted as Director (2001-2005) to overseas the influx of Afghan Refugees in the past 9/11 siatuation and also managed return. During 2002 over, 0.3 Million were recorded as influx and 1.56 million voluntarily returned.
2005-2007 elevated as commissioner Afghan Refugees at the Chief Commissionerate, Islamabad.
2008 Attended Senior Management Course at Lahore.
2008-2013 on Promotion to grade-20 was posted as Joint Secretary SAFRON. Dealt with Afghan Refugees, Administration, levies/ Khasadars and FATA.
2011-2012 Attended National Security and War Course at NDU.
On Promotion to grade-21, posted as Chief Commissioner Afghan Refugees in May 2013.
Represented Pakistan in number of meetings of the executive Committee of UNHCR in Geneva, Tripartite Commission Meetings, Quadripartite meetings and numerous other conferences and seminars conducted the first ever censes, Registration Exercise with biometrics, helped formulate National policy on Afghan Refugees 2007-2009, 2010-2012 and 2013-2015.
